SUGGESTED AIR RACE

THE QUESTION OF FINANCE By Telecraoh —Prf»ss Association AUCKLAND. October 30 Doubt whether the Aero Clubs of New Zealand would feel justified in guaranteeing as much as £6OOO, was expressed by the President of the Auckland Aero Club, Mr Spencer Mason, commenting on the suggestion that ‘he Centenary Air Race pilots should be invited to tour New Zealand. He said that each of the ten clubs would have to guarantee between £SOO and £6OO. He supposed that the clubs could expect a fair proportion of the guarantees to be recouped, but in the absence of full details of the scheme, it appeared a rather ambitious or.e. Personally he thought the tour to be made by Messrs J. D. Hewett, C. E. Kay. M. C. McGregor and Walker would be almost as good.
