DIAMOND WEDDING
Last Friday evening a very pleasant time was spent at the residence of Mr and Mrs B. E. Evans, Maungati, when about fifty guests assembled to celebrate the diamond wedding of Mr and Mrs R. Hutton, Otipua. A sumptuous wedding breakfast was provided and the three tiered wedding cake was cut by the bride of sixty years ago. The toast of the bride and bridegroom was proposed by Mr John Ward, who had known them for more than 50 years. He congratulated Mr and Mrs Hutton on reaching this epoch In their lives, and hoped they would see many more anniversaries. Mr and Mrs •■Hutton’s family of ten children, are all living, and are well known in different parts of New Zealand. The evening was spent with cards, music and song. The duets contributed by the bride and bridegroom were enjoyed most of all.
