At the wool sales 11,560 bales were offered, of which 10,625 were sold, also 2131 privately. There was very good competition from Yorskhire with more activity on behalf of Continental operators and moderate support from Japan. The market was very firm at the closing rates of last week, while better classes of skirtings advanced by five per cent. Greasy merino made to 16d per lb for seven bales from Moree. The average price of wool at the Sydney auctions last week was £l2/9/2 per bale or 9.4 d per lb.
