A BIG IMPROVEMENT By Telegraph—Pres? Association AUCKLAND, October 29 A former Prime Minister of Canada, Mr Arthur Meighen, the present leader of the Canadian Senate, arrived by the Niagara, en route tc Melbourne, to represent Canada at the Centenary celebrat : ins. He said that Canada was doing very well, every index of recovery being favourable , but the Canadians felt that they could be better off if conditions in the United States were more stable and the immediate future there was more certain. The Ottawa agreements had had manifest, important and excellent results. As an illustration, he said that the trade between Canada and New Zealand had improv'd. New Zealand’s sales to Canada up to March 31, were about 150 per cent in excess of those for the year previous to the agreements, while Canad-n sales to New Zealand had improved by abcut 20 per cent.
