ANGLERS’ PARADISE

POSSIBILITIES OF LAKE The Waitaki Hydro lake should he an anglers’ paradise, as the Waitaki Acclimatisation Society has been steadily stocking the tributaries of the river above the dam with trout fry for some years. Proposals, which originated from the North Otago Soldiers' Aid Association, to plant the shores of the lake with trees, are soon likely to take concrete shape, for local bodies, and especially the Waitaki County Council, have interested themselves in the project. Once the locality is cleared of the tons of debris of all sorts which always accumulates during the progress of such work, the dam and the lake should be a great centre of interest for visitors, particularly in a few years, when the proposals of the Waitaki County Council and other bodies with respect to afforestation have been implemented.
