The figures for the overseas trade of New Zealand (excluding specie) for the month of September and for the nine months ended September were as follows, compared with the corresponding periods In 1933 and 1932. In the case of imports the recorded value is given with the equivalent in New Zealand currency in parentheses. In the case of exports and balance the figures are m terms of New Zealand currency. September, 1934. _ £ £ Exports 2,447,032 Imports 2,096.950 ( 2,543,000) Excess of exports 96,000 September, 1933. Exports 2,173.022 Imports 2,062,219 (2,525 000) Excess of exports 352,000 September, 1932. Exports 2,512,796 Imports 2,155,530 (2,316,000) Excess of exports 303,000 Nine Months. For the nine months ended September, 1934, the figures are: Exports 39,876,921 Imports 18.407,824 (22,386.000) Excess of exports 17,491,000 September, 1933. Exports 31,542,761 Imports 15,585,935 (18,992,000) Excess of exports 12.551,000 September, 1932. Exports 27,385,791 Imports 17,057,239 (18,294,000) Excess of exports 9,092,000 The value of specie excluded from the above return for the month of September, 1934. was: Exports, £98,200; imj ports, nil. For the nine months ended September, 1934, exports £761,200 imports £1,142,000, A note in the official statistics states that imports from Australia are recorded in terms of Australian currency and imports from other countries in sterling.
