COTTON INDUSTRY

SPINNERS TAKE STEPS FOR REORGANISATION British Official Wireless (Received September 26. 5.5 p.m.) RUGBY. September 25. An important step towards the reorganisation of the cotton industry in Lancashire has been taken at Manchester, when a mass meeting of spin- ; ners of Egyptian yarn decided upon a I legal agreement for fixing prices. When completed, it will provide for an inspection of mill books and an imposition of fines for breaches of the agreement. It is anticipated that other sections of the cotton industry will follow a similar course, with a view to ending undercutting in prices.
