While the fighter stations were enshrouded in mist and planes were not allowed to leave the ground, raiders from the south successfully bombed the Marble Arch during a continuation of the air manoeuvres. Another squadron failed to attack an imaginary chemical headquarters, owing to the interception of fighting planes.
The night attacks included several big towns.

Spectacular air defence operations lasting three days will begin to-day In eight prefectures, centering on Osaka and Kobe for the purpose of training the military and civilians to resist a hypothetical enemy’s aircraft, raid in the industrial heart of the country. The army and navy are participating.
