i HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, July 26. The House of Representatives met at 2.30 p.m. Mr D. G. Sullivan (Lab., Avon) gave notice to introduce the Christchurch City Empowering Bill. Mr A. S. Richards (Lab., Roskill) asked the Minister of Health if he would introduce legislation for licensing drainlayers, providing for the license to cover the whole of the local authorities of the Dominion. The Hon. J. A. Young replied in the negative. To give effect to the member’s request, he said, would mean that the Government would have to set up examination and registration boards for the Dominion or else every local body would have to accept the license certificates of every other local authority.
