EXCEPTION TAKEN

BOYS DOING SKILLED WORK. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, June 26! At a meeting of the Technical College Board of Governors, strong objection was taken by the Trades Council to a student doing practical building work on the sports pavilion, while there was so much unemployment in the building trade. The chairman said the work on the roof and plumbing would be done by outside labour. The director said that it was first suggested that the work should be let by contract, but it was decided that it would be of great value to the boys in their practical training. A motion that in future all work should be done either by contract or day labour was lost.
