UNEMPLOYED CHINESE
POSITION NOT SERIOUS IN THE SOUTH By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, June 26. On his return from his annual visit to southern centres, the Rev. Y. S. Chan. Presbyterian Chinese missioner at Auckland, said that the unemployment situation amongst the Chinese in Invercargill, Dunedin, Timaru, Oamaru. Ashburton, Christchurch and Wellington did not appear to be very serious. If a Chinese had a pair of willing hands he could always find work with friends even though he might find little or no remuneration. Generally speaking the Chinese community was in a position to look after its own people as it always did.
