After a discussion revealing the impossibility of agreement at present, the Labour Conference, by 65 votes to 37, postponed the question of a 44-hour week until 1935. AMERICA’S STATUS. The International Labour Office passed a resolution inviting the United States to join the International Labour Organisation, making it clear that this did not involve obligations under the Covenant later. The American acceptance was received.
