The Holmdale arrived from Oamaru yesterday and after loading for Wellington, Picton and Wanganui sailed for Lyttelton. The Totara called here yesterday from Dunedin. She loaded for Wellington and New Plymouth and was despatched later for the north via Lyttelton. The Storm was another arrival from the south yesterday. After picking up shipments for Wellington, Picton and Wanganui she departed for Lyttelton. The Waipiata is due to arrive early this morning from Oamaru to load for Picton, Wellington and Auckland. She should get away for Lyttelton to-night. The Poolta is scheduled to reach Timaru from Oamaru to-day to load for Wellington, Napier and Gisborne. Port Napier Away. The Commonwealth and Dominion steamer Port Napier, which was originally the Hawke’s Bay, and which was loading meat and general cargo for Home, obtained her Timaru quota on 1 Monday night and got away for Wanganui on the tide yesterday morning. She will complete at Wellington from where she is to sail finally for London and Southampton on June 26. Canadian Scottish’s Itinerary. Messrs J. P. Lamb and Co. advise that the itinerary of the Canadian National Line vessel Canadian Scottish has been altered and the ship was to sail yesterday afternoon for Lyttelton. She will complete at Timaru on Saturday, from where she is to sail finally for New York, Boston and Montreal. Gale Docks. The steamer Gale arrived on Sunday night at Port Chalmers from New Plymouth, and went into dry dock for cleaning and painting, which was expected to be completed yesterday, and running resumed. She loads at Dunedin to-day for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington and Wanganui. Old Port Caroline Sold. Parisina, ex Loredano, ex Port Caroline, steel steamer, two decks and shelter deck, 4,250 tons rross, 2,587 tons net, built by R. and W. Hawthorn, Leslie and Co., Newcastle, 1905, and owned by the Industrie Navali Soc. Anon., Genoa, has been sold in a damaged condition to Italian shipbreakers for about £4,000. The Narbada. The Narbada left Newcastle on June 9 with a cargo of coal for Sourabaya and Batavia. After discharge she wiil proceed to Calcutta to load, and she to leave Calcutta early in August for Penang, Singapore and Samarang to complete loading for Auckland. Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, Dunedin, and Bluff. Tanker Bringing Mail. Owing to the laying-up of the Royal Mail liner Makura for a month for overhaul there was an interruption : r the Pacific mail service, and other vessels besides mail liners were utilised to carry mail. An overseas mail is being brought by the Norwegian tanker Storanger, which is due at Wellington from San Pedro about July 1. The vessel has 471 bags of English and American mail for New Zealand. Personal. Mr C. R. Carlyon has been appointed third officer of the Wahine, replacing Mr C. W. Dovey. Mr A. Haliigan has been engaged as second engineer of the Holmdale, relieving Mr T. Beck.
