The protest ol the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce against the Government spending money on large buildings was referred to the Minister of Finance. Mr Coates said he seemed to recall how insistent the public bodies of Dunedin were for a new Post Office, a new Public Trust Office, new Government buildings, and a new hospital. Just speaking off-hand the protest seemed to come from the wrong quarter. It might be as well if they examined themselves first.
