THEFT FROM SHIP

STEWARD IMPRISONED. By Telegraph—Press Association DUNEDIN, May 23. Arthur Burton Creagh (54), steward in the Jacob Ruppert, the Byrd Expedition ship, was sentenced to one months’ imprisonment for the theft of an eiderdown quilt from the vessel. A similar charge against Lawrence Henry Kennedy (40), sailmaker in the Bear of Oakland, was dismissed. The police stated that there had been extensive thieving from expedition vessels.
