ART EXHIBITION
AN EMPIRE COLLECTION By Telegraph—Press Association DUNEDIN. May 2. The Empire art loan collection exhibition, the first of a series in New Zealand, was opened to-day by Mrs p. R. Sargood. Messages of congratulation were received from the Governor-General, Mr Malcolm MacDonald, Under-Secretary of State for the Dominions, and Miss Ellen Melville, chairwoman of the Auckland Art Gallery Committee. Keen public interest was taken in the event, the first view being crowded out.
