* ANCHOVY PASTE. % * 6 red herrings, lib butter, lib X cream, 1 egg, cayenne pepper. v *> Skin and bone herrings and J* * put through mincer several * times. Put butter and cream in | *> a saucepan, warm but do act <£« * boil. Add herrings with cay- *> $ enne to season. Mix thoroughly, £ * then add well beaten egg, mixing % £ well.
