BOXING
UNPOPULAR DECISION. By Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND, April 9. A professional light-weight boxing contest between Archie Hughes (Auckland) and Jack Fitzgerald (Australia) ended in a draw, thß judges disagreeing and the referee giving the decision which met with a very mixed reception. Fitzgerald proved himself the cleverest defensive boxer seen in Auckland for years, his opponent being at a loss to know how to hit him. Whenever Fitzgerald chose to open out he piled up points with a straight left varied occasionally with a right cross and appeared to hold a comfortable margin at the finish. GHNOULY BEATS KELSO. At the stadium to-night, in a fifteen rounds bout before a large attendance, the Roumanian, Joe Ghnouly (9st 61b) outpointed Jimmy Kelso (9st 121 b).
