The ; Waimarino is due to leave for Auckland to-morrow, taking a quantity of potatoes. The exact amount will not be known until her hatches are closed, but because of rain to-day digging may have been interrupted and the quantity shipped may be less than anticipated. The onion market is in the doldrums at 35/- on trucks. Partridge peas are slightly weaker, the quotation falling from 4/- to 4/a bushel f.0.b., s.i. which is equivalent to 3/4 to 3/5 a bushel on trucks. The demand from the United Kingdom Is negligible, and the crop is heavy. The small seeds business is slack. The North Island demand, at no stage keen, has disappointed. No other sections show activity. GERALDINE STOCK SALE. There was a yarding of approximately 3000 head of fat stock at the Geraldine sale yesterday, when prices were well up to schedule rates. Bidding was keen and every lot found a buyer.
