INTERNATIONAL ACTIVITIES SUGGESTED. WORLD WIDE INQUIRIES INSTITUTED. United Press Association—By Electrlo Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, March 25. It Is reported that detectives are inquiring into the suggestion that the burning of the French line’s L’Atlantique and Georges Philippar and the disappearance of Mr Reginald Lee, acting-British Consul-General at Marseilles in 1930, were connected with the international espionage plot. World-wide inquiries are being made. A body of a man found on the beach at Marseilles was identfied as that of Mr Lee, and it was at first thought’ that he had committed suicide. Later evidence, however, tended to show that the body was not that of Mr Lee at all, and his relatives persisted in their efforts to unravel the mystery of his disappearance. The Georges Philippar and L’Atlantique both sailed from Marseilles, and both were burned at sea. Heavy loss of life attended the disaster aboard the Georges Philippar. The cause of the fire was aaid to have been a short-circuit in tip electrical system, but incendiarism \tfts suspected. In the case of L’Atlaritique incendiarism was proved.
