WINCHESTER
PRESENTATION. On Saturday afternoon the members of the Winchester Tennis and Croquet Qlub gave an afternoon in honour of Mr D. Louden who is shortly to be married. There was a large attendance of members and friends present. Mr G. Burborough, president of the club, spoke appreciatively of Mr Louden’s association with the club, which had extended over a number of years, and presented him with a framed picture and an electric light shade. Messrs J. L. White and N. J. Robertson (captain) also spoke. Mr Louden made suitable reply. PERSONAL. Mr and Mrs W. Bradshaw have left for Southland. Misses M. and J. Deßenzy have gone to Christchurch to spend the Easter holidays. Mr L. Bain is relieving Mr W. Bradshaw stationmaster at Winchester. Mrs S. Greenall, Southbridge, who has been staying with her son Mr J. Greenall, has returned home. Mr A. Wilks of the Pensions Department, Palmerston North, is staying with his father, Mr J. Wilks, Winchester. Miss M. C. Opie, has gone on a prolonged visit to the North Jsland. Nurse Mattie Robertson, Dunedin, is with her parents, Mr and Mrs R. E. Smith. Miss B. Smith is spending Easter staying at the Wolseley Hotel, Winchester.
