MASTER PRINTERS

ANNUAL CONFERENCE By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, March 24. Addressing the annual conference of the Federation of Master Printers, which was held from March 20 to March 23, the president, Mr A. Dennison (Auckland), said that owing to the difficulty of the times, the volume of customers’ requirements had seen a considerable reduction and the printing industry had become involved in an era of unprecedented price-cutting, despite the obvious fact that debased prices did not promote increased requirements. Only by determined action of men who were resolved to see that a just reward was obtained in return for the use of brains, labour and capital, were economic prices likely to return. He appealed to the printing industry to display more of the team spirit and to co-operate more closely in matters of mutual interest. Officers were elected as follows: President, Mr A. Dennison (Auckland) ; immediate past-president, Mr H. Coull (Wellington); members of the council of management, Messrs E. Aldridge (Auckland), E. A. Blundell (Wellington), E. Darroch (Timaru), H. Harris (Otago), B. C. Jacobs (Auckland), T. Somerville (Otago), W. F. Soper (Christchurch), J. Stout (Christchurch); secretary, Mr E. W. Clarkson; auditor, Mr G. J. Feil.
