AN EARLY WINTER
FROSTS IN THE WAIKATO. By Telegraph—Press Association HAMILTON, March 17. After a wet, uncongenial summer Hamilton is experiencing an early winter, introduced by a succession of light frosts, one being four degrees. Late crops and gardens have suffered. In marked incongruity fires are raging in the Rukuhia peat swamp five miles away. A heavy fall of smoke has replaced the frosts and bleak fog. The glare at night provides a magnificent spectacle. Property is undamaged.
