PETER PAN ANSWERS CIRCLIANS' LETTERS

“Golden Rose’’ and “Silver Fairy," Chamberlain, Albury: Very nice wee poems, my dears. You may see them both in our Page soon. Erica Kellie, Pleasant Point: Your story and poem are both well written, Erica, but the story, especially is hardly suitable for our Page. What about writing something nice and “Eastery” for our Special Easter Page? You will see your poem again soon. “Annandale Daisy,” Albury: Such a nice wee letter from my Annandale Daisy. I had a wonderful holiday, my dear, and I am sure you had a splendid one, too. Baby foals are such lovely leggy things, aren’t they. Bill sends puppy Maud a very big wag of his stumpy tail. “Woggles,” Timaru: Very good, Woggles dear, and just the thing for our Easter Page. Did Mr. Postman deliver your wee parcel safe and sound? “Merry Mischief,” Rangitata Island:

Such a budget of good things from my Merry Mischief. I like the poems, and think a Funny Book would be the jolliest thing to make. What about calling your pretty little kitten “Silvertoes,” “Frisko,” or “Whiskers?” Those are three jolly names suggested by Circlians for my kitten. You must be a busy little person, with so many wee pet things to look after. “Pink Rose ot Meadowburn,” Arno: I am glad you liked our Summer Page, my dear. I think Michael is a good name for pussy, too. Those bantams are splendid sitters. Your bunny must be a fine big fellow. "Fairy Bell,” Timaru: “Autumn” is a nice little poem, Fairy Bell, but is not quite as good as others you have written. “Gorse Goblin,” Suva: I was delighted to hear from you again, Gorse Goblin. You must have hud a wonderful holiday. The Franconia is a real luxury liner, and it must have been

most interesting being shown over it. Do you have any time for VerseMaking nowadays? Yes, your letter was too late for Letter Day, my dear, but you just might see it again next month. Laurie Johns, Timaru: What a jolly photo, Laurie. Many thanks for sending it to me. Patch and Belinda look very nice, and I am sorry Timmie felt shy and ran away. “Mothers Sunday” is a lovely little poem. I saw it in a Christchurch Children's Page last Saturday, but may print it later on. I think "Mothers’ Day” will always be kept. I did not see your parade, but it must have been a splendid one. “Towser,” Timaru: I was ever so pleased to see that Towser had not forgotten me. I hope you had a happy birthday last Monday. Circlians who have their birthdays at the beginning of the week are not wished “Many Happy Returns” till the Saturday. What a jolly holiday you had. Silverdale Wolf must be a beautiful puppy, and he has a splendid name. I once owned an Alsation, but he is up in Wellington now. They are beautiful dogs, but, as you say. very strong. lam sure you will soon learn to swim. Yes, Michael and Bill are great friends. “Imp." Hilton: So the wanderer has returned. Did you have an interestin trip out on the boat, my dear? What about writing a long letter and telling us all about it? You were a lucky girl to have such a wonderful trip. There are some beautiful blackberries in your little corner of the world, and I must go blackberrying again soon. “Fairy Primrose,” Sutherlands: A neat wee letter from my Fairy Primrose. Holidays are often just as jolly spent at home as over the hills and

far away, aren’t they, my dear. I think Michael is a good name for pussy, too. “Sunrays,” Fairlie: I will do my best to get that chapter for you, Sunrays, but it may be too late now. I am sure you had an enjoyable holiday in Timaru. Yes, the Begonias are wonderful. “Bold Billy,” Cave: “London Streets” is a jolly little poem, Bold Billy and will find a place in our Page soon. Keep on with your writing, won't you. Your kittens must be dear little fellows. Here are three names that Circlians suggested for Michael. . . .Tiger Tim, Timothy Joe, and Chum. Do you like them? You and David Were lucky to have a ride on an elephant. I will ask our boy Circlians to write to you. “Sparkling Star," Timaru: Such a budget of good things from this Circlian of mine. Thanks for the puzzles and riddles, my dear. Yes, I know that very nice lady with whom you stayed. Your letter was neat and newsy, and you will see it again next Letter Day. Letter Day is held on the first Saturday of every month. You must have some splendid flowers in your garden. I liked your little story, but it is not quite good enough for our Page. What do you call your rabbit?
