Mr. J. Fairbrother, of Vogeltown, New Plymouth, an old boy of the New Plmouth Boys’ High School, has been awarded a bursary tenable for three years at the School of Architecture Auckland University College. Mr. D. D. Wilson, of Hamilton, a well-known dog judge and breeder, will leave on Tuesday next for Sydney to judge all breeds in conjunction with Mr. N. Orman Wade, of Auckland, in the dog section at the Royal Show. M. Nihotte, the C sul for Belgium, will leave by the Rangitane on April 13 on an extended holiday, with his wife. Priests and members of the Roman Catholic parishes in Christchurch on Thursday paid a tribute to the memory of their first bishop, the Rt. Rev. John Joseph Grimes, S.M., D.D., at the celebration of the nineteenth anniversary of his death. Pontifical Requiem Mass for Bishop Grimes was celebrat-d in the Roman Catholic Cathedral. The celebrant of the Mass was his Lordship Bishop Brodie, and the assistant priest the Very. Rev. Dr. Kennedy. The Very Rev. Father A. icDonald, S.M., and the Very Rev. Father Peters (Newcastle) were the deacons at the throne, and the Rev. Fathers G. Daly and B. Blake, S.M., the deacon and sub-deacon of the Mass. The Rev. Father Timoney, administrator, was the master of ceremonies. A choir of priests sang the music of the Mass.
