ILL-HEALTH OF STATE PREMIER NEW LEADER’S CHOICE OF COLLEAGUES United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright HOBART, March 16. Having tendered the resignation of his Government, Mr J. C. McPhee, Premier of Tasmania, recommended the Governor to send for Sir Walter Lee, who accepted the commission and formed a Liberal Ministry as follow: Premier, Treasurer and Minister controlling the Hydro Electric Department, Sir Walter Lee. Chief Secretary and Minister of Railways and Mines, Hon. C. E. James. Attorney-General and Minister of Education, Hon. H. S. Baker. Minister of Mines, Works, Agriculture and Forests, Hon. Neil Campbell. Ministers without portfolios, Hons. A. Wardlaw, E. Hobbs, and E. Turner. Sir Walter Lee was Premier in 1916 and also 1923. Mr McPhee is retiring from politics owing to ill-health. (Sir Walter Lee was born in 1874. He entered Parliament in 1909. He was Leader of the Opposition from 1915 to 1916; Premier, Chief Secretary and Minister of Education 1922-£i; Premier and Treasurer 1933; Minister of Lands and Works since 1928.)
