ST. ANDREWS

GYMKHANA PROVES SUCCESSFUL LIKELY TO BE ANNUAL EVENT Overcast but bright weather greeted the opening of the gymkhana organised by the St. Andrews Anglican Ladies’ Guild. Most of the events were got off under ideal weather conditions, but a heavy downpour spoiled the last part of the programme. The attendance was very large, and although the function was the first of its kind held in the district the organisation was so good that the programme was completed without a hitch and with no dragging moments for the spectators who thoroughly enjoyed the whole show. A Pipe Band was in attendance, and gave the Domain a Caledonian atmosphere. The following were the officials:— President, Mrs P. R. Woodhouse; secretary and treasurer, Mr R. B. Williams; committee, Mrs R. B. Williams, J. H. Stowell, Mr G. Coles, Mrs H. B. S. Johnstone, Miss Elworthy, Mr H. Elworthy, Mr H. B. S. Johnstone, Mr C. L. Orbell, Mrs W. E. Mills, Mr R. Coup, Mr W.
