WORST YEAR IN HISTORY
POOR BUSINESS ON THE CLYDE. United Press Association—Bv Electric Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, December 26. The year 1933 hfis been the worst in the history of shipbuilding on the Clyde. There were 36 launchings, aggregating only 56.455 tons, but the cloud has a silver lining, November orders alone exceeding the whole of the 1933 construction. A more hopeful outlook is justified by orders for the new Orient, Peninsula, Commonweath and Dominion, Blue Star and New Zealand shipping liners.
