PROPOSED CONTEST FUND FOR BAND.
To tile Editor ol The Tlmaru Herald " Sir,—l am writing this letter with the object of enlisting your sympathy with respect to the Timaru Municipal Band. We have a very good Band, and to keep the interest of the members and bring out the best that is in them, It is desirable that they attend the Wellington contest to be held, I understand in February. I am enclosing one guinea with the suggestion that you might open a list to assist to raise the necessary funds to enable them to attend the contest and so assist an organisation that is always very willing to assist any good cause. Hoping those who can will assist—l am, etc.. A WELLWISHER. Timaru, December 12.
