Dominion Meteorologist. General situation.—A slight depression crossed southern New Zealand during Saturday night and barometers have been high over the Dominion. Winds—Light to moderate and variable but north-easterly to northerly prevailing, later freshening. Seas (New Zealand waters)—Rather rough north of East Cape, elsewhere smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea —North-east winds strong in the northern portion, and rough sea», moderate but freshening in the southern portion, with moderate seas. Weather.—For most parts fair, warm and hazy; some scattered showers likely in the far north and south, and later on the West Coast ioi the South Island.
