The Commonwealth loan was oversubscribed and the list of cash applications closed after two hours. The issue involved the immediate conversion of £16,647,349 at 32 per cent, issued at £99 and maturing in 1949, or optionally redeemable in 1946. The success of the conversion operations will probably enable the remainder of the Australian optional debts In London to be converted in January, after which Mr Bruce will be able to visit Australia.
