PARTIES APPEAR IN COURT. By lelegrapP Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, December 7. A well-known racehorse owner and an Inspector of the Lands Department came before Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M., on charges arising out of an incident on the Yaldhurst road recently. John Robert McKenzie, an importer, was charged with assaulting George Ross Stevenson, farms inspector to the Lands Department, and Stevenson was charged with driving in a negligent manner and with failing to stop his motor-car at the request of an owner of a horse. The dispute had arisen over the fact that Stevenson's car had nearly collided with a valuable horse owned by McKenzie. After hearing the evidence. the Mtgistrate dismissed all the charges, ordering the defendant to shake hands. This they did.
