APPLE TRADE
AUSTRALIAN OBJECTION TO QUOTAS. United Press Association—Bv Electrlo Telegraph— Copyright • Received December 6. 6 3 p.m.) LONDON, December 6. The Agents-General. who have been examining the apple trade, are forwarding their report to Australia. It is understood the report unanimously opposes fixed quotas, and favours qualitative rather than quantitative restrictions. They are confident that England will absorb all the marketable fruit produceable in Australia, provided only the right varieties are sent. The inclusion of inferior fruit ruins the chances of the whole export, whereas the quota would probably favour New Zealand.
