WORK IN LEVELS COUNTY
FINANCIAL REPORT RIDING BALANCES A statement was presented to yesterday’s meeting of the Levels County Council showing the estimated expenditure for the year ending March 31, 1934, and the amount expended up to December 6. The statement was as under:— Est. Ex. Amt. Ex.
Public Works. The estimated expenditure on maintenance of highways was £4284, and the amount expended to December 6 was £2290. General estimated expenditur on main roads, bridges and protective works was £4OO, but only £43 had been expended. The estimate for unemployment relief was £IOOO, and £403 had been expended. The estimate for plant was £BOO, and expenditure £642. The unexpended balances in the riding accounts were:—Otipua, £602; Seadown, £730; Waimataitai, £347; Point, £333; Te Ngawai, £229; Claremont, £326.
