SEADOWN

SCHOOL GAMES. Seadown's return match with the Washdyke School took place on the Washdyke Racecourse on Tuesday, fi e games proved most enjoyable and a pleasant afternoon was spent. The rounders match, under the supervision of Mr Lory, Miss Saunders and Mr Williams, resulted in a win for Washdyke by 87 to 40. The cricket matches followed. W r ashdye were sent in to bat, their total of 100 being made up through the good batting of Fahey 32, James 9 and Hay 44 not out. The others were accounted for easily, due to the good bowling of Darling five wickets. Cargo three and Mahoney two Seadown were no match for Glcnday and James, whose bowling accounted for the wickets, the former taking three and the latter six. Seadown s scorers were Cooper 5 and Hide 6. Washdyke thus won by 100 runs to 11. The visitors were entertained afternoon tea in the school. Mr Williams thanked the Washdyke teachers and pupils for such a fine afternoon's entertainment, commended them for their sporting qualities, and the fine comradeship that prevailed between the two school* Mr Lory replied stating that his school looked forward to these games, and he was pleased to see how the two schools were improving on every occasion.
