At the wool sales, If *44 bales' were offered, and 9432 sold, as well as 313 privately. Keen competition continued, all sections operating freely. Japan was particularly anxious to obtain good to average description. The market is firm with prices unchanged. Comebacks and crossbreds sold readily, greasy merino to 25d per lb. ACTIVE COMPETITION IN LONDON United Press Association—By Electrlo Tel egraph —Copyright LONDON. December 4. At the wool sales, 7652 bales were offered, including 3923 New Zealand. About 5644 bales were sold. There was active competition. Apart from occasional withdrawals of inferiors and faulties, the bulk of the offerings fetched full rates. New Zealand: Greasy crossbred, “J.F.* top 15id, average lid. Bradford Tops. Bradford Is quiet. Finer merinos are easier. There is little change in crossbreds.
