THE WEATHER
Mr F. L. YVooles. Wind.—Variable, moderate to strong, westerly ruling. Weather.—Somewhat unsettled, but mainly fair. Dominion Meteorologist. General Situation.—Barometers are still rather high in northern New Zealand. while a series of westerly depressions is passing to the southwards, a fairly intense one being located at present on the Tasman sea. Winds—A brief southerly change is probable up the east coast of the South Island, otherwise northerly to westerly prevailing, strong to gale force south of New Plymouth and Napier, light to moderate but freshening thence northwards. Seas (New Zealand Waters)—Rough south of Cape E*mont and Castleixjint, elsewhere moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea.—Moderate to strong northerly winds of gale force in parts of the southern portion, seas rather rough to rough Weather.—Unsettled in western districts south of Kawhia and in the far south, with rain setting in; elsewhere still mainly fair, but some isolated showers on the east coast of the South Island; teinepratures warm in most districts.
