SEADOWN
YOUNG HELPERS’ LEAGUE. On Friday afternoon the home of Mr and Mrs J. W. Topham, “Holmvale,” Seadown, was thrown open to the public for the annual meeting of Dr Barnardo's box collectors. Under the direction of Mrs Topham everything had been prepared, and a most enjoyable time was spent by all. During the afternoon the children indulged in treasure hunts, tennis and races, while the adults admired the lawns and gardens. Afternoon tea was served. A feature of the afternoon was the icecream which found a ready sale. Dr Barnardo’s fund will benefit considerably, thanks to the generosity of donors and the hospitality of Mr and Mrs Topham. The results of the treasure hunts were:—Girls: Natalie Hide. Boys: Jack McCully. The races were contested in one of the fields under the supervision of a large committee. Toys and cash prizes were given to the winners and thanks to the generosity of those present, all received a prize. The results were as follows:—Beryl Hughes 1, Betty Williams 2.
