A further decrease in unemployment took place in October, and the returns of the Ministry of Labour show that since January the unemployed figure has fallen by 500,245. The total registered unemployed in October was 2,298,753, representing a reduction during the month of 37,974, and a reduction compared with a year ago of 448,253.
