SOCIAL NOTES

Mr and Mrs C. S. Hammond, Albert Street, are on a visit to Christchurch. Mr and Mrs C. L. Orbell, “Pentlow,” will leave to-day to attend the Christchurch show. Mr and Mrs C. W. F. Hamilton. “Irishman Creek,” have been staying at the Hermitage, Mt. Cook. Mrs Ynyr Robinson, Peel Forest, is the guest of Mrs George Gould, “Avonbank,” Christchurch. Mrs Gerald Holmes, Waimate, is the guest of Mrs Sutherland, LeCren Street. Mrs H. Hay, “Cadogan,” Sefton Street, returned yesterday from a short visit to Christchurch. Mrs E. T. Layburn, who has been staying with her sister, Mrs G. D. Virtue, Elizabeth Street, has returned to Christchurch. Mrs Wensley Clarkson, who has been in England and the Continent for the last few years, is at present on her way to New Zealand, and will arrive in Christchurch shortly.
