In the Sheffield Shield match, Victoria in the second innings made 431 for five wickets (declared) (Ponsford 122, Rigg 123, Darling 48, Barnett, not out 65). Tobin took two wickets for 94 runs, and Davey two for 81. South Australia, in the second innings, made 231 (V. Richardson 102). Ponsford and Rigg established a record first wicket partnership of 240 runs in the Victoria-South Australia fixture. Victoria won by 169 runs.

In the Sheffield Shield match New South Wales in the first innings made 494 for four wickets. Yeates took two wickets for 155 runs, Oxenham one for 81. Queensland in the second innings made 140 (C. Andrews 31, Levy 37). O’Reilly took seven wickets for 53 runs, Mair three for 30. New South Wales won by an innings and 171 runs. The wicket was dry after yesterday’s rain, but the outfield was damp. O’Rielly, at one stage to-day had captured four wickets for eight runs.
