BUOYANT MARKET IN SYDNEY REAL SCRAMBLE FOR WOOL DEVELOPS United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received November 7, 9.37 p.m.) SYDNEY, November 7. At the wool sales, 11,182 bales were offered; 10,794 were sold, as well as 1,627 bales, which were sold privately. Yorkshire was particularly active in a brisk market, and full clearances were effected, at the improved values reported yesterday. Prices for best fleece lines and skirtings frequently showed a hardening tendency. Comebacks and crossbreds were again dearer, being 71 per cent above last week’s rates. Greasy merino made 263 d for six bales from Yass, and four bales from Barraba. Comeback made a record price of 233 d per lb, and crossbred a record price of 223 d for lines from Yass.

United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received November 8, 1.20 a.m.) LONDON, November 7. “The Yorkshire Observer" says: “A real scramble for wool appears to be developing. The absorption of two record clips by the conclusion of last season, with a negligible carry-over, combined with the present feverish demand, indicates a wool hunger, which should result in stabilisation at higher values.
