APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR URGED. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON. November 7. The immediate appointment of i Director of town planning to succeec Mr J. M. Mawson, was urged by Mi Blackley, president of the recen annual meeting of the New Zealain Town Planning Institute, in prepar ation for the resumption of immigration from England. Mr Blackley said steps should b< taken for orderly development an< settlement, and no better or mon fruitful work than this could be givei the 500 surveyors, engineers, and archi tects who are now forced by circum stances to do pick and shovel work.
