NEW RAILWAY STATION

TENDER ACCEPTED. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, November 6. An announcement that the lowest tender for the construction of the new railway station at Wellington was that of the Fletcher Construction Co., Ltd., and that he was now in a position to state that the tender of this company was being accepted was made to-day by the chairman of the Government Railways Board, Mr H. H. Sterling. He said that the price tendered by the company was £339,173, and the architects estimate was £338,000. The work, added Mr Sterling, would be commenced practically immediately, and is to be completed within three years and three months of the date of the commencement of the contract.
