BUILDING SUBSIDY
EVASION OF RESTRICTIONS. By Telegraph—Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, October 24. Reference to alleged abuses of the Unemployment Board's building subsidy scheme is contained in a letter received from Mr W. Bromley, a member of the Board, by the secretary of the Amalgamated Society of Carpenters. Mr Bromley points out that blame for the unfair advantage being taken of certain aspects of the scheme cannot wholly be attributed to the employing authorities, as there are cases of workers themselves having entered into collusion with employers to evade the restrictions.
