INTOXICATED MOTORIST
ONE MONTH’S IMPRISONMENT. By Telegraph—Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, October 23. Charles Thorne (25), butcher, pleaded guilty this morning to a second offence of being intoxicated while in charge of a motor car. He was sentenced by the Magistrate, Mr H. A. Young, to a month’s hard labour a 1 his license was cancelled till June, 1935. He was arrested near mid ight, after driving away from a pie-cart in Cathedral Square. The police said cases of the kind seemed to be increasing.
