DEAREST LITTLE PEOPLE,

Spring, the lovely sprite, is fleeting away; the violets, daffodils, and primroses are quietly sinking into their long sleep, and the gay trees are shedding their blossoms. This, I said to myself, is very very sad. What shall Ido about it all? Just then the leaves of a pear tree rustled, and a very cheerful thrush appeared, looking important and busy. She was not sad, and, quite to my surprise, neither was I. Mrs. Thrush was too busy to take any notice of me. Her active little eyes were keenly surveying the garden. There was a sudden whirr of wings, and a moment later she was disappearing once more into the trees, carrying a piece of wool. Some day soon I shall peep through the branches, and there, I know, I shall find a happy little family. Yes, Spring is going, but Summer is coming, bringing with her, new thrills, new loveliness. The apple blostcm that fades, but fades to give place to fruits that grow till they blush with sweetness in late Summer. The busy thrushes are busy that soon the garden will be swelled with newer, younger, sweeter voices. All the while the kindly sun creeps higher. October goes, carrying her sheaves of blossom. November comes, bringing new loads of colour and perfumed with even sweeter scents. Still the mounting sun ascends, and warmer grows the air. Out come our bathing things. Even the beaches and river banks blossom with cheerful colour. Gay caps in growing numbers nod along the warm bays and refreshing stream-:.. Goodbye Spring! a Welcome Summer! "Us ) ■'V ) LOVE, / I gL/K P.S. I wish to thank "Interested,” and also the other kind folk who sent me pictures and scraps of wool and material; and I also wish to thank “Banksia Rose” for her beautiful Spring flowers. P.P.S. I wonder if any of our older Circlians could make as fine a dolls' house as the one in the picture below. —P.P.
