The code for fair competition, embracing National, State and Savings Banks, trust companies, and private banks accepting deposits, came into effect to-day. Rigid rules for the regulation of trust business are embodied in the code, which will probably form the basis for similar, perhaps more specific, rules to be included in the investment code. The latter, now in process of being drafted, seeks to correct the investment and banking practices, condemned by the Senate Banking Committee as a result of investigations.
