Winooka will have a work-out over five furlongs to-morrow with another horse, both with the colours up. It is declared that excepting a mishap. Winooka 111 be a certain starter on Friday next. It is intimated that Jamestown may participate in the Winooka race. Preparation for Friday's Race. Winooka worked over five furlongs at Laurel, with Caesar's Ghost and Okapi, who are likely .starters next Friday. All three were hard held. Poison. trainer of Winooka, timed the trial tit lmin 2sec. Caesar's Ghost led most of the way. Winooka heading him at the top of the stretch, but Caesar's Ghost was in front of Winooka by threequarters of a length at the finish. Drinkwater, rider ot Oscillation in the Malden Race, and S Anderson, rider of Haulbowllne In the Electric Handicap, were both suspended for one month lor careless riding. The appeal of A. E. Ellis against his suspension lor two months by the Dunedin Judicial stewards will he heard to-night It is rumoured that the Metropolitan Trotting Club contemplates rejecting the entry of one of the horses uommalcd for the Trotting Cup, >n the ground that Its recent form makes It an unde: irable contestant.
