Curious reverberations of the Hitlerite gospel continue. Herr Kube, an influential Prussian leader, announced at a public meeting: ‘‘lt is nonsense for handicraftmen and members of the lower and middle classes to cherish the ambition of giving their sons a university education. Two Socialists were sentenced to death on charges of murdering a Nazi in 1933. This is the first time that Socialists have been treated with severity comparable to that meted out to the Communists. The head of the West German Broadcasting Coy., and his chief of staff, have been arrested and sent to a concentration camp and also others in the Frankfurt district, mostly Communists. One of the Berlin broadcasting chiefs committed suicide. EFFECT ON NAZI POLICY WORLD-WIDE BOYCOTT BY JEWS United Press Association—By Electric Tel egraph—Copyright LONDON, September 17. “The Observer” says that the British Jewry’s “secret” boycott of German goods has already cost Germany millions of pounds. A big multiple store recently cancelled a seven figure order. A committee of Jewish doctors is investigating the possibility otf obtaining in Britain drugs and chemicals hitherto imported from Germany. The boycott is prevalent throughout Europe, and has had such an effect that many German firms are employing Jewish travellers in an attempt to retrieve trade.
